Nightmare City
By Andrew Klavan
Published by Thomas Nelson
I have been reading this all day today, I started last night (i got it yesterday afternoon), and had a hard time putting it down. This was a very well written book from Tom's perspective. He always has to get to the bottom of the truth no matter the cost.
It starts out he thinks he is dreaming about heaven, but he isn't sure, and wakes up to his cell phone ringing. The womans voice sounds weird and keeps breaking up till the call drops. Tom can't see or hear anyone in hos house or on his block and there is the fog that is rolling in with some kind of creatures in it. He needs to figure things out before something bad happens.
This book make you think of what could happen next. I was pleasantly surprised to find out how right I was.
It talks of what is happening now, but when it introduces a new character then it takes an Interlude to talk about that new person, before then continuing the story. It is a good way of explaining them without having to go to far in depth about them.
Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from Thomas Nelson publishers as part of their book review bloggers program. All opinions expressed are my own, and I was not required to write a positive review.
Book Description
Tom Harding only wants the truth. But the truth is becoming more dangerous with every passing minute.
As a reporter for his high school newspaper, Tom Harding was tracking the best story of his life—when, suddenly, his life turned very, very weird. He woke up one morning to find his house empty . . . his street empty . . . his whole town empty . . . empty except for an eerie, creeping fog—and whatever creatures were slowly moving toward him through the fog.
Now Tom’s once-ordinary world has become something out of a horror movie. How did it happen? Is it real? Is he dreaming? Has there been a zombie apocalypse? Has he died and gone to hell?
Tom is a good reporter—he knows how to look for answers—but no one has ever covered a story like this before. With the fog closing in and the hungry creatures of the fog surrounding him, he has only a few hours to find out how he lost the world he knew. In this bizarre universe nothing is what it seems and everything—including Tom’s life—hangs in the balance.
