Dark Halo (Angel Eyes, #3)

Dark Halo Book #3 in the Angel Eyes series
By Shannon Dittemore
Published by Thomas Nelson

I read the first two in the series and was so happy that I was able to get a copy of the third book. In the beginning of the book it does give an update on what happened in the first two books. This book did not disappoint me. I absolutely loved the ending that it was given.

Jake was taken by the demon, Damian, in the previous book. Brielle is understandably upset over him being taken. Brielle stays close to the chest as she was asked to and she is awarded when she is finally given a hint of where Jake may be, which is also a part of the mystery. Brielle finds Jake and is taken with him by Damian. She meets Satan in the desert where he offers her his halo which will allow her to not have nightmares and to not see the Celestial no longer.

What do you think her choice will be? Will she choose to keep all her sight intact? or Choose to remove her sight so she can finally rest well?

Book Description

One halo brought sight to Brielle. Another offers sweet relief from what she sees.

Brielle can’t help but see the Celestial. Even without the halo, the invisible realm is everywhere she looks. It’s impossibly beautiful—and terrifying, especially now. Because a battle rages above Stratus, Oregon.

The Terrestrial Veil is ripping, and demons walk the streets past unseeing mortals. Dark, sticky fear drips from every face, and nightmares haunt Brielle’s sleep.

Worst of all, Jake is gone. The only boy she’s ever loved has been taken by the demon, Damien. When she receives instructions from the Throne Room leading her to Jake, she unknowingly walks into a diabolical and heartbreaking trap.

Now she’s stranded in a sulfurous desert with the Prince of Darkness himself, and he’s offering her another halo—a mirrored ring that will destroy her Celestial vision. All she has to do is wear it and she’ll see no more of the invisible world. No more fear. No more nightmares. No more demons. It’s a gift. And best of all: it comes with the promise of a future with Jake, something the Throne Room seems to be taking from her.

Will Brielle trade the beauty of the Celestial and the truth of the world around her just to feel ordinary again?

Angel Eyes (Angel Eyes, #1)

(Angel Eyes Trilogy #1)
1st book by this author

I really enjoyed reading this book. It is written in the first person for each chapter (For whoevers name is at the beginning of the chapter, it does alternate between 3 people, but mostly it is Brielle ). Brielle went away to the city and a tragedy struck, she blames herself for it. She feels cold all the time and can never seem to warm up. Jake is a new guy who has recently moved there, he starts school the same day Brielle goes back. Every time he is in the same class as Brille, she seems to warm up more.

I would recommend this read to teenagers and young adults. Even me as an adult have thoroughly enjoyed it. This book has Angels and Demons, a spiritual battle, death, a different realm, and many other enjoyable tidbits.

I look forward to the other 2 books in this series

Book Description
Once you’ve seen, you can’t unsee.
Brielle went to the city to chase her dreams and found tragedy instead. She’s come home to shabby little Stratus, Oregon, to live with her grief and her guilt . . . and an incredible, numbing cold she can’t seem to shake.
Jake’s the new guy at school. The boy next door with burning hands and an unbelievable gift that targets him for corruption.
Something more than fate has brought them together. An evil bigger than both of them lurks in the shadows nearby, hiding in plain sight. Two angels stand guard, unsure what’s going to happen. And a beauty brighter than either Brielle or Jake has ever seen is calling them to join the battle in a realm where all human choices begin.
A realm that only angels and demons—and Brielle—can perceive.
