Boring day today/My Quick Garlic Bread recipe

I have ordered the second book in the Merlin Spiral series: Merlin's Shadow. I can't wait to read it!

Helped Cassie build her snow fort in front of our place, accidentally knocked part of down and grabbed some big snow balls to replace what I dropped.

Went to my Mother-in-law's place tonight. She is out right now, but should be home soon. Fixed her paper jam in her printer, because I was bored.

Dave was watching the hockey game Toronto versus Montreal. We root for Toronto.

When I get home I am going to make some garlic bread. There are two different ways I make it.

One way is:
Take a slice bread, spread butter/on it lightly sprinkle garlic salt on it, place in microwave/oven for a little bit, and it really good.

The other way is:
Take a whole thing of margarine and grind up a small section of a garlic clove and mix it in. Let it sit for a few days to let the garlic get nice a strong. (I call it garlic butter) Spread the mix on bread and place in microwave/oven for a little bit, and it really good also.

I have some garlic butter in the fridge that had been there for a while, so should be nice and strong.

Goodbye Prince Charles

I already typed all this and lost it, so now trying to remember what all I wrote about lmao.

Took Cassie to Prince Charles, to pay for her chocolate and return her library books. We got permission to say goodbye to her friends. She got smothered to death by all her friends. A few of them got quite emotional saying goodbye to Cassie.

Took Cassie to Foundations, she stayed about 45 minutes and wanted to go home. I took her to Tim Hortons and we tried out the candy cane hot chocolate, it was delicious.

I so wonder if any of Cassie's friends will come over this weekend, I doubt it since most seem to busy with other things, people, each other, etc, but one can hope.

I dyes the tips of Cassie's hair, and also dyed my whole hair (mine is different than hers of course.

Chocolate Lasagna

Bought a brand new red Wii Mini from EB games today and it came with Mario Kart.

I watched some episodes of Impractical Jokers, it is one of my favorite shows to watch, they are really funny.

I seen this and it looks SO good!!!

INGREDIENTS
1 package regular Oreo cookies (Not Double Stuff) - about 36 cookies
6 Tablespoon butter, melted
1- 8 ounce package cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup sugar
2 Tablespoons cold milk
1- 12 ounce tub Cool Whip, divided
2 - 3.9 ounce packages Chocolate Instant Pudding.
3 1/4 cups cold milk
1 and 1/2 cups mini chocolate chips

DIRECTIONS
Begin by crushing 36 Oreo cookies.
Transfer the Oreo crumbs to a large bowl.
Stir in 6 tablespoons melted butter and use a fork to incorporate the butter into the cookie crumbs.
When the butter is distributed, transfer the mixture to a 9 x 13 inch baking dish.
Press the crumbs into the bottom of the pan.
Place the pan in the refrigerator while you work on the additional layers.

Mix the cream cheese with a mixer until light and fluffy.
Add in 2 Tablespoons of milk, and sugar, and mix well.
Stir in 1 and 1/4 cups Cool Whip. Spread this mixture over the crust.
In a bowl, combine chocolate instant pudding with 3 and 1/4 cups cold milk.
Whisk for several minutes until the pudding starts to thicken.
Use a spatula to spread the mixture over the previous cream cheese layer.
Allow the dessert to rest for about 5 minutes so that the pudding can firm up further.

Spread the remaining Cool Whip over the top.
Sprinkle mini chocolate chips evenly over the top.
Place in the freezer for 1 hour, or the refrigerator for 4 hours before serving.

Drama...........

I got my new book today Merlin's Blade, and I can't wait to read it, I will post about it as soon as I can.

I will be buying a new WII tomorrow, so hopefully her friends will wanna come over more to play it with her, and give her company.

Our family is just so damn sick of the fights and drama with our daughter and her new so called friends at Prince Charles we will be moving her back to a better school. One where everyone will know better than to mess with her. She has never been very happy in Prince Charles, she has very few friends and those she does have hardly ever want to come over and hang out with her. They usually hang out with each other.

We are taking her to the school tomorrow and letting her say her goodbyes to the few "friends" that she does have, and letting them know they are still welcome to come over as long as they are not complete jerks to her. We will be going to the new school tomorrow to start the process of getting her moved into that new school.

' I was watching her Facebook as her "friends" were yelling at her and calling names. I was SO NOT IMPRESSED with that, that is for sure. If she keeps them for friends, it is fine, but if they ever said that in person in front of me, they would see my beast within, and that is a scary thing I am told lol.

So that is my little update/rant of the day today, I am so glad we can give my daughter what she wants and get her out of that hellhole of a school, that she never wanted to go to to begin with.

Witches of East End

This cold/flu/phnumonia (whatever it is I have) is knocking me on my bum. I can't sit or stand for a long period of time or my asthma works up really badly and I can't breathe well, it feels like someone is sitting on my chest weighing me down.

So anyways since I have had to stay laying down I finally caught up on all my Witches of East End, that I had PVRed on our box. It is a really neat show about witches. The mom, sister, 2 daughters are cursed and have a shape shifter after them. It is very interesting, I have always liked shows/movies about paranormal people/creatures.

I have found out some great news. The Witches of East End have been picked up for a second season by the Lifetime network.

Random & I hate being sick!!!!!!!

Cassie had Tanner over today. They watched some T.V and Fred videos. She stuck her sock in his face, he asked to smell it again and said it didn`t stink, at least not as bad as he has smelled before with others. Watched other random things on Cassie`s computer. She let Tanner use it to watch videos he wanted for a while, and she played on her Nintendo DSi XL. He left to go home.

So TJ had came here a few days ago saying he had a cough. He tried and is still trying to say it is our place, but i know it is only cause he has a cold, since he gave it to me, and now I am sick! I have been sick for a couple days now. I always get different symptoms than those who give it to me, almost like my body hates me and wants me sicker than the one who gives it to me.

TJ has 2 dogs (like we do), and 1 cat (we have 3, but they are never in the same room at once). SO I know it is not an allergy as well, which is the only other thing that could make someone `cough` for environmental reasons inside an apartments, since we don`t smoke.

Right now I cannot smell or taste anything, which is sad, cause I love tasting foods I am eating. Stupid FLU!!!! This always happens when I get the flu or pneumonia. I hope it is gone tomorrow, we are having a PPV with guests over, and lots of treats to eat.

I wish I had a thermometer so I can find out what my temperature is, cause I almost always run a really high fever and need to cool down in a cold bath within the first week. I lost mine recently and don`t get money until Wednesday. Usually goes to 103, but I never feel like it is that high, which is why I always have to watch it. When I hit 101 on temperature it always continues to climb until I take a cold bath, no use of Advil of Tylenol by themselves get it down.......wish me luck and hopefully I don`t hit the dreaded temperature that kills.

Cassie`s rat, Ares, passed on today as well, I think it was old age, but it could also be neglect from her. I usually had to remind her to check his water, and give him attention, which she didn`t really do unless there was a friend over. I nursed him yesterday for 4 hours, and she came one once and held him to take a picture, which I didnt think was right so i took him back. He lasted overnight, but passed on later today. I couldn`t really get him to eat or drink.

Flea Remedies

These are tested by others, and have helped out immensely so thought I should jot them down here for myself and all the lurkers out there with pets :D
I personally continuously use Brewers Yeast with garlic for pets (says it is for healthy coat, but it does help with the fleas as well).

Use Salt and Dawn to Kill Fleas

To kill fleas in your home, put down lots of salt in your carpet. Wait 24 hours and vacuum. If you do this every other day, your home will be free of fleas. You have to keep up this or they will come back. Plus I bathe my dog and cats with dish detergent like Dawn once a week or so. It kills fleas on contact. Its cheaper than those expensive dog shampoos.

Flea Spray Recipe

Ingredients

1 gallon vinegar
1/2 gallon water
16 oz. lemon juice (I just bought the cheap lemon juice)
8 oz. witch hazel (found in Walmart pharmacy section)

Yay, you are flea free now! You can also spray this on furniture, walls, etc.

_____________________________________________________________________

Skin So Soft bath oil from Avon. Mix one part Skin So Soft and five parts water. Put it in a spray bottle. It is also great to keep flies away and if you have an itch, it stops the itch immediately. It is great to use on animals just keep it away from their face.

Daughter has a Thief 4 a friend

Got all my stuff back today that was on loan. I am so happy, some of these things I have been really missing, like my camcorder and such. Bought a few things for the Wrestling PPV on Sunday. My husband wanted to watch it, so we invited others over, we are charging $10. per person because not only do they get to watch the PPV on a 52 inch T.V. We supply lots of snacks, and pop.

I gave away 3 boxes of groceries, plus 3 bags of treats for the guy's three boys.

Daughter is going to a youth group today. She gets bored there easily though usually. She was going to guitar lessons, but gave up on those.

One of her friends (Brandon) tried to steal 2 of my DS games, but he failed. One had dropped in our house right by where he grabbed them from and the other dropped in the hallway of our building and it was returned to me by our neighbor. Though he doesn't realize it, I had known they were missing the moment they were and was already looking for it, because they were on the couch cushion where he was sitting. He is no longer welcome in my home, as I do not stand for things like that going on!

She didn't last there very long. Came home and messed around for a while. Had some spaghetti, an Oreo brownie, and frozen lemonade.

At the Library/House of Night series

I am very bored today. My daughter decided to go to the library with her friend T.J. We are sitting at the computers right now.

I couldn't find a book to read today, nothing really popped out at me. Feel free to leave suggestions, I love all kinds of Fiction type books.

I tried to print some coupons I have been wanting to get, but the library computers need Java and they wont download it right now. They said I will have to try back a different day or something, which kind of stinks.

This Sunday is the Santa Claus parade, which hopefully it will not be too cold for, or raining.

There is now an hour left until the library closes, and I am still not sure what to read tonight. Maybe I will start the third book in the Wicked lovely books, I read the second one a couple days ago and it was just as enticing as the first, but the library doesn't have it. I do have an app on my cell which has the whole series, so I will still be able to read it, thank goodness.

TJ now has the hiccups (again) and this time in the library lol. He is a very loud hiccupper, and it is echoing in here.

I have read a little over half of the House of night books and cannot remember where I left off, and it seems pretty daunting to go back over each of the books. I love each of them, they are filled with exciting pages of reading. It has been a while since I have read these, but I will go back and read each and every one of them again, because re-reading them is almost like saying hello to an old friend you just barely remember.

I loved how the first one had started, it really draws you into the book. How she didn't feel too good and the guy who was at her locker and she thought he had to have made a mistake with who he was looking for.

Nightmare City

By Andrew Klavan
Published by Thomas Nelson

I have been reading this all day today, I started last night (i got it yesterday afternoon), and had a hard time putting it down. This was a very well written book from Tom's perspective. He always has to get to the bottom of the truth no matter the cost.

It starts out he thinks he is dreaming about heaven, but he isn't sure, and wakes up to his cell phone ringing. The womans voice sounds weird and keeps breaking up till the call drops. Tom can't see or hear anyone in hos house or on his block and there is the fog that is rolling in with some kind of creatures in it. He needs to figure things out before something bad happens.

This book make you think of what could happen next. I was pleasantly surprised to find out how right I was.

It talks of what is happening now, but when it introduces a new character then it takes an Interlude to talk about that new person, before then continuing the story. It is a good way of explaining them without having to go to far in depth about them.

Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from Thomas Nelson publishers as part of their book review bloggers program. All opinions expressed are my own, and I was not required to write a positive review.

Book Description

Tom Harding only wants the truth. But the truth is becoming more dangerous with every passing minute.

As a reporter for his high school newspaper, Tom Harding was tracking the best story of his life—when, suddenly, his life turned very, very weird. He woke up one morning to find his house empty . . . his street empty . . . his whole town empty . . . empty except for an eerie, creeping fog—and whatever creatures were slowly moving toward him through the fog.

Now Tom’s once-ordinary world has become something out of a horror movie. How did it happen? Is it real? Is he dreaming? Has there been a zombie apocalypse? Has he died and gone to hell?

Tom is a good reporter—he knows how to look for answers—but no one has ever covered a story like this before. With the fog closing in and the hungry creatures of the fog surrounding him, he has only a few hours to find out how he lost the world he knew. In this bizarre universe nothing is what it seems and everything—including Tom’s life—hangs in the balance.

November 16th-updated on 17th with pictures and video link

Cassie tried to have a get together with her friends ("a party"). Only AD (girl), Tanner (boy) and T.J (boy) showed up. The others didn't show up and Taylor (girl) cancelled last minute.

The did something called a Nyan Cat challenge where they listened to a cat meowing for an hour, which I sat through as well, but it was weird lol.

AD left and now Cassie is stuck with 2 boys and she is not sure what to do.

They are now going to be doing a "video" starring Cassie with T.J as the director. I am not sure what it is about. It seems really weird though lol. It is about her laughing, they shot her in various place laughing.

This here is a link to the video on my youtube. It is quite funny really.

DIY: Hair Chalking!

All the kids are doing this now here is a cheaper way!

You'll need:
Soft pastel chalk.
A small spray bottle filled with water
A flat iron or curling iron
Rubber gloves
A old towel or t-shirt you don't mind getting color on.

Step 1: Spray a 1-inch section of hair with water. You don't need to soak the entire strand, just go as high up as you want the color to be.

Step 2: Color on your hair with one of the pastels. I recommend choosing about three colors, and putting one at a time in your hair. Start with the lightest shade first, since, as you can see, the color gets all over your gloves and you'll end up with a muddied version of the same hue throughout if you go dark to light.

Step 3: Wait for your hair to air dry.

Step 4: Using the curling or flat iron, go over each colored strand. This sets the colors in your hair, so it will last longer. Then brush and style however you normally would!

The color stayed in my hair (which is naturally medium blonde)for about a week, while my friend's (who bleaches her hair) washed out the next day. The best part about this technique is that it works for girls with darker hair too, although the color is much more subtle.

Hair Dye Using Sidewalk Chalk

Supply list:
- One piece of sidewalk chalk
- Water
- A cup or bowl
- Scissors or a knife
- Hair dryer
- Hair spray

What To Do

For light hair:

- Select a section of the hair that you want colored.
- Using the chalk, draw/color on your hair as if using a marker.
- Immediately apply a small mist of hair spray to hold it in place.

For dark hair:

- Place chalk into the container.
- Add small amounts of water to chalk to dampen (not soak).
- Let the chalk set for a few minutes until it starts to deteriorate slightly.
- Use the scissors or knife to scrape off the loosened chalk.
- Using your fingers, make the chalk into a paste.
- Apply the paste to the area of your hair that you want colored using a pinching technique.
- Allow to sit for at least 30 minutes.
- On the lowest, coolest setting, blow dry your hair very carefully.
- After it dries apply a small mist of hair spray to hold it in place.

If you follow these steps as stated above, the chalk should wash out after one shampoo. If the chalk is a little persistent, baking soda is great for removing color. Simply mix it into a paste while showering and apply to hair as if shampooing.

Also this link here has a great (but long and complicated way to make the chalk and dye your hair with it)

Wicked Lovely

Me and my daughter, Cassie. Went to the library yesterday and I went and picked up a random book from the new section (which just means it is new to the library, it doesn't mean a new release, as this is the case in this book).

The book is called Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr and it is the first book of at least 5. I started reading it yesterday while I was still at the library and got very interested and was able to find the second book as well (Ink Exchange).

I am almost half way through the book now and I am still not interested in putting the book down. This book really draws you in and leaves you wanting to finish it to see what is going to happen around the next page.

It is about a girl name Aislinn who has a gift to see fairies, but she is never to let them know she can. Her mom and grandmother had to do the same thing. Ignore the fairies, pretend they aren't there and don't attract their attention. Now she has attracted the attention Kennan, who is a King, and she is not sure why he is looking her way.

Aislinn best friend Seth, she finally revealed to him that she can see fairies and he is researching ways that he can help her (and maybe even gain the sight himself so he can continue to save her. Seth gives her the idea of changing her ways, so that maybe the the fairies would go away and leave her alone again.

Kennan is the Summer King who is looking for his Summer Queen. He looks time and again and offers the girl he picks a choice. Pick up the staff and hopefully be his Queen (but with that comes a risk of taking in a cold that you never get rid of until he can get another to touch the staff. Or to not touch the staff (it didn't really tell much here but I believe it said something about being a follow-along girl, who are called his Summer girls.

The last girl Donia has been waiting for someone to take it for a while now, centuries. Her job is to talk the new girl(s) out of taking the staff. It is all part of the game they have to play, each has their own roles to follow the rules by.

I think everyone will definitely like this book, it is very imaginative.

That is the last I will say of this awesome book, now it is time for me to go back and read this, cause I had a hard time to put it down so I could type this up.

6 steps with Flea Home Remedies

1. Flea collar

A flea collar is a great way to ward off fleas without always having to reapply something topically, and it keeps the flea control constant and steady.

You will need…

-3-5 drops of cedar oil or lavender oil
- 1-3 tablespoons of water
-Bandana OR your dog’s collar
-an eyedropper (optional)
Directions

Dilute 2-3 drops of your chosen oil in 1-3 tablespoons of water. Some people use the oil undiluted, but I personally feel it should always be diluted, even if it’s only by a little.

Next, pick out a bandana to be the flea collar-I think a bandana is preferable because you can take it on and off and your dog’s collar won’t smell. It’s always fun to get creative with patterns and colors here.

If you go up to ½ teaspoon you can use up to 5 drops of the liquid. Using an eyedropper or other similar means, apply 5-10 drops of the mixture to the bandana and rub the sides of the fabric together, and then tie it about your dog’s neck in a snazzy way. Reapply oil mixture to the collar once a week.

In conjunction with this, 1 or 2 drops of oil diluted with at least 1 tablespoon of olive oil can be placed at the base of your dog’s tail.

__________________________________________________________

2. Flea deterring drink- can be used alongside any of these remedies.

You will need…

-1 teaspoon white distilled vinegar or apple cider vinegar

Directions

For every 40 pound dog add 1 teaspoon of white distilled vinegar or apple cider vinegar to 1 quart of their drinking water. We highly recommend using Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar. Not only does it deter fleas, it improves a pups skin and coat condition from the inside-out.

__________________________________________________________

3. Flea comb

This contains lemon and lemon contains something called limonene, which is a chemical that kills and repels fleas but is harmless to us or our pets.

You will need…

-1 freshly sliced up lemon
-1 pot of fresh water
-a comb, sponge, or brush

Directions

Boil a pot of water and add the slices of a freshly cut lemon to it. Turn off the heat after the lemons has been added and cover the pot, letting the mixture steep overnight.

The next day dip a comb or your pets brush in the liquid (make sure it’s sufficiently cool) and run it through their hair. A sponge works as well, especially if you have a very short haired breed.

A quick version is to bring water to a vigorous boil and then pour over a freshly sliced lemon. Then just dip the comb, let it cool, and use as above.

__________________________________________________________

4. Flea spray

As a bonus, your pup will get a nice gleaming finish to their coat after using this flea spray.

You will need…

-1 cup white distilled vinegar OR 1 cup apple cider vinegar OR a 50/50 blend of both
-1 quart fresh water
-2-3 drops of lavender or cedar oil
-a decent sized spray bottle

Directions

The essential oil isn’t vital, but it certainly gives the spray an extra edge (and a nice smell.) If you’re using it, add 2-3 drops as you add 1 cup of white distilled vinegar/apple cider vinegar/both to 1 quart of fresh water.

Fill your spray bottle, and mist your dog, being careful not to get it in their eyes, nose, or ears-aka avoid spraying near the face. To get up around the neck and behind the ears/their chin area, dampen a soft cloth with the mixture and wipe it on.

Spray your pets bedding and around it with this mixture lightly as well.

__________________________________________________________

5. Flea (be-gone) bag

This little sachet contains things that smell pleasant to us, but that drive pests away from your pet.

You will need…

-Two 6 inch squares of breathable fabric (such as muslin)
-a rough handful of cedar chips
-1-2 teaspoons of dried lavender buds
-the peel of 1 lemon

Directions

Follow the instructions on how to make a sachet here if you need more detail. Cut 2 6 inch squares of fabric and place them together inside out. Sew all but 1 side and turn inside out.

Fill with a rough handful of fragrant cedar chips, 1-2 teaspoons of lavender, and 1 lemon peel. Leave enough room at the top so you can tie it off with a ribbon or sew it shut (tying allows you to reuse it when the contents lose their potency.)

Place under your pets bed/bedding or near it to ward off fleas. Change the mixture every month or so.

__________________________________________________________

6. Flea bath- wash your pup with this weekly to deter fleas.

You will need…

-A half a cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice*
-1 ½ – 2 cups of fresh water
-1/4 –1/2 cup of mild pet-friendly soap or shampoo

Directions

Stir together a half a cup of lemon juice, 1 ½ cups of water, and ¼ cup of mild pet-friendly shampoo or soap. Bottle and label and bathe weekly to keep fleas away.

*amounts will vary depending on the size of your dog. As a general rule of thumb, use 2 parts water to every ½ cup of soap and lemon juice.

Amazing Water Marble Nails How-to Guide!‏

I have done this before and it a great thing to try out. I will be doing it later today and will update this with pictures of how they turned out!

What You Will Need:

Nail polishes – Whatever creates your most desirable color combination.
Small plastic container/cup - Note: container will get ruined during the process.
Water – Room temperature is optimal.
Wooden sticks – Opt for wooden cuticle sticks.
Newspapers/Paper towel – For spills and other messes.
Scotch tape – To wrap the nail and help place the marble design.

Steps:

Step 1: Tape up the three sides that surround your nail so that you do not get polish all over your skin.

Step 2: After filling up your cup with water, take your nail polishes and lightly drop a tiny dot of each color into the water so that each drop is placed on top of the other after it spreads.

Step 3: Take your cuticle stick and drag it through the polish from the outside to the middle creating a unique design of your choice.

Step 4: Dip one tapped finger nail into water and keep it there, as the polish will adhere to your nail.

Step 5: Remove your finger from the water/polish mixture, and use a cuticle stick to remove remaining polish out of water. Repeat the process on remaining fingers.

Step 6: Let dry and finish your nails with a good clear top coat to seal the deal.

And that is all there is to it!!

(I do not have a clear coat over this, and i re-did the thumb as it was too dark, as you can see in the first picture)
