Rare Breed : An Enemies to Lovers Shapeshifter Romance (Leopards Unleashed Series Book 1)

Written by Dina Haynes

I loved this book with all its little twists. The book follows MacKenzie who goes by other names as all were's do. The book follows her perspective as she goes about her life. You get all your questions answered by the end of the book which was great since it is the first one.

The way it ended was also a nice touch to help lead into the next book which is told in MacKenzie's fathers prospective which with the little snippet you get at the end of this book shows that his book starts near or at the end of the last novel so that should be an interesting read as well.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily, and I did not regret my choice in picking this one.

The First-Aid Companion for Dogs & Cats (Prevention Pets)

Written by Amy Shojai
Narrator: Amy Shojai

I got the audio book version of this for free and am leaving this review of my honest thoughts of it. The book was part of Authors Direct, and it sadly doesnt tell me which chapter is which which i found would have been super helpful had I wanted to check certain chapters later on in case I needed this book, I do not know if that is the case with any other form of audio books however so I can not say for sure.Just in case though, "Track 5" is chapter 1.

This book would definitely come in handy for someone who wants to know about when they should help their pet at home, how to help them and if a vet is needed or if they need to do something before heading to the vet so that they do not have to worry as much. Its a great read to learn as well if you are thinking or wanting to be in the pet profession.

There is way too much information in the book to give a thorough review on what it all says. However I think any pet owner should want to own this book in one way or another, but personally I would suggest either the e-book or physical book so that you can find the right chapters should you wish to look things up at a later date.

The author dives deep into what you need and can do for your pets.
The narrator does a good job reading this book and trying to convey what all is written (which is also the author).

Firstborn: A Novel

Written By Lorie Ann Grover

This is a very interesting story. It is about how if your first child is born male, he will be fine. However if you are a female, you are to be left by the cliffs to die and/or be killed and eaten. There is only one way out of death and that is if your parents decide to declare you as a male and raise you to be a male. As a female (who is declared a male) you have to suppress ALL feminine urges as your grow, and never act on them or you will be killed the moment they find out.

This book follows Tiadone through some of her (his) life. It tells how she feels, and thinks of any of her feminine urge is a betrayal to who she is to be. She is the first female to be declared a male (that is known). She mostly only has one guy friend. Since the description talks of this isnt a spoler. She starts to see her friend in a new light and tries supressing it as best she can, even going to large lengths. But whether she is successful in that, I will let you read the book to know.

There is so much more to this story than what I am saying or what is written into the Book description, but I don't want to give away anything, just know that the book isnt made into a love story by any means, it talks about her feelings cause that is one major part of being female in a male's body, but there is more to the story than that one aspect of it.

This is a very small spoiler without being a big one since its in the beginning of the book. Each male and each female get an egg and an egg pouch to keep warm and hatch their own bird (I can't remember the name at the moment). The eggs the females get are different than the ones the males get. Tiadone is of course given one that is to be for males since she is a "declared male".

I was sorry to see it end and wish there would be another book to follow up on the ending. (I can't really say much more or it will ruin the ending but I would love to read more about what happens.

Book Description

Where does a firstborn girl fit in a world dominated by men?

When Tiadone was born, her parents had two choices: leave their daughter outside the community to die in the wilds, or raise her as male and force her to suppress all feminine traits. Now, as the first female living as male in her village, Tiadone must prove her father didn’t make a mistake by letting her live.

As her male initiation approaches, Tiadone knows every eye on the community is on her, and desperately wishes to belong and finally be accepted. But at every step, traditional feminine gifts and traits emerge, and the bird she's been twined with is seen as a sign of the devil.

Worse, as Tiadone completes her rites, she finds she is drawn to her male best friend in ways that are very much in line with the female gender.

Confused and desperate, Tiadone tries to become what she must be while dealing with what she indeed has become: a young woman who may be able to stand up to her despotic rulers and uncover her real purpose in life.

Midnight Descending (Awakened, #3)

Written by Lisa M. Green

I read the first two book in this series and each one has been great in their own way.

This one is the final book of the series and I loved it. Each book in the series has ups and downs emotionally in them, and this one definitely showed that as well. The book answers all questions you might have had within the story line, and even more that wasn't even on your mind yet.

It shows Aurianna for the most part as does all the others, and within this book it also gives some perspective of Sigi in it.

There was one thing I had guessed at which turned true, but other parts were always surprising me with how they were and you get that ohhhh, kind of moment where you think that maybe you should have thought of that. The time bending in these novels plays a bigger role than you know as you read them.

With this book there is not much I would want to reveal since this whole thing could be considered a spoiler if I were to say anything, but this book and whole series has been a great read.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily, and am very glad that I was allowed to do so. These are my own thoughts and words with no bias given.

Book Description:

BROKEN BY BETRAYAL. SURROUNDED BY DESTRUCTION. UNITED BY HOPE.

Aurianna must live with the consequences of her heartbreaking decisions in the aftermath of a betrayal too devastating to face.

She and her friends have no idea who is trustworthy and who is scheming for power. Their only option is to seek assistance from two groups: one that no one thought to ask, and one that no one thought existed.

The fate of Eresseia lies in the hands of those whose power is far greater than it seems, and whose leaders are not always what they appear to be. To protect the ones she loves, has she merely traded one monster for another?

Aurianna is now—irrevocably—a key player in a world that needs her as a leader, as a hero, and as the face for their emerging resistance movement.

With so many sides, choosing the wrong one could lead to the destruction of everything she has begun to think of as home.

Darkness Awakening (Awakened, #2)

Written by Lisa M. Green

Interesting continuation of the series. This book does a great job on wrapping up some of the loose ends left from the first book, not all of course cause that would mean there would be no need for another book, which I look forward to reading sometime. I stayed up till 3 am saying just one more page each couple pages.

This book follows more of Aurianna with a few peaks into Leon, which kinda surprised me, his few chapters gives a little view into what his home life is, which is unpleasant to say the least amount on that, which you can read to find out more about.

Aurianna goes back to her time and sees nothing has changed and doesn't understand why, she stopped the event....right? Welp, in comes Pharis to again drag her back to "fulfill the prophecy" and again neither understand why it had to be him again.

The ending had some shocking events, and one of the things that is said literally at the end is kind of a cliffhangar itself to make you wonder what it means, but check it out and see for yourself.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily, and in my own words and opinions.

Dawn Rising (Awakened, #1)

Written by Lisa M. Green

This was a great book, it has many layers to it, like an onion as you read more gets revealed. It leaves on a cliffhanger making you want to know what else is to come. I really enjoyed this book, it has lots of explanations in it, and descriptions which is good to help you get a picture of the scenes unfolding.

The book follows Aurianna and Pharis, but mostly just Aurianna. Aurianna is told that she is destined to save the world, that she has powers she will need to train to use. Pharis comes to the future to pick her up, and at the time she isnt fully aware of why since her "Aunt" had only just told her something (which I will let you read and find out what). Pharis is annoyed that his father sends him on this mission which he has no reason why it had to be him and not some one else, but that is to be revealed at a later time.

I can't wait to see what else there is in store for these two, in the series to come.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Of Thorns and Beauty (Twisted Pages #1)

Written by Elle Madison & Robin D. Mahle

I loved this new twist on Beauty and the Beast. The way the author keeps you twisting and turning on what is going on within the castle and why Zaina acts how she does is great. I didn't want to put the book down to go to sleep, it took me ages to put it down.

The book follows Zaina as she goes through with marrying someone who she has never seen, and who hasnt seen her. The night that follows the wedding was quite interesting. As the days pass in the book and Zaina's character gets developed you see different sides within her and her husband. I don't want to say too much more but if you like re-written Fairy tales with completely different outlooks, I definitely suggest this book.

It ends on such a cliff hangar, that I can't wait to read more.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily with my own wordings on how I enjoyed the book.

_______________________________________________________________________

A Beauty and the Beast retelling you won’t want to miss, where nothing is what it seems and time is running out.
