Dorm Life (Undead Ultra #2)

by Camille Picott

Awesome book.

This was a great listen, I was really glad to be able to hear it. The author was kind enough to give me a code for Authors Direct to listen to this awesome book. It is continuing the journey where the first book left off which was also a good book that you should check out as well as this one.

This book itself is has 2 sides, which is Kate and Jenna (Carter's girlfriend). The book follows both girls in the new world they are trying to survive in. What Kate is thinking and seeing , what Jenna is thinking and seeing. Each one having some different and some same thoughts on things.

Kate watches over the kids and tries to help them for the future they have all been thrust into. Getting them in shape could be tough going, but you will be able to read all about it in the novel.

Getting a copy of the audio book which didnt require me to leave a review, I am doing that on my own in the own thoughts, can't wait to see what happens next. (Also I have done them all but going back into them to re-listen cause they are a great series, and to write up a review on here instead of just on Amazon)

Book Description:

How do you survive the apocalypse when the only things your companions care about are pot, video games, and beer? This is the predicament Kate finds herself in after running two hundred miles to find her son.

Holed up in a dorm with Carter and his friends, she is surrounded by college kids who have no interest in gathering supplies, fortifying their home, or even taking out the trash.

Resources are scarce. Zombies are everywhere. Survivors prey on the weak.

Feet have become the only reliable form of transportation. Kate knows this better than anyone. When you move, you need to be quiet, and you need to be quick.

Kate needs to get her kids in shape. She needs to get their minds out of the Xbox and into the apocalypse. If she can’t, none of them will survive.

This next installment of Undead Ultra will make you want to lace up your running shoes, take out the trash, and kill some undead. Embrace the adventure and get Dorm Life now!

Undead Ultra (Undead Ultra #1)

by Camille Picott

I got a free audiobook code for audible. I had seen it in the passing and it was a new take on the zombie apocalypse scene that I knew I wanted to read it to see what happens in it, and I am very glad that I did so. I was not required to write a review for the code. Also I bought the ebook on a whim, to support the author and the great work they did writing this.

The book follows Kate as she runs to get to her son. Kate and her friend Frederico were ultrarunners but even this will test them to the limits as they try to scavenge for food, water, supplies on the way to their kids, all the while trying to dodge around the zombies and outwit other humans. Frederico to his daughter which is their first stop and Kate on her way to her son.

I have read the prequel first and was so excited to see where it blended into the main story. It did not disappoint me, it was so well written and blended in, that if you didnt read the prequel you wouldnt know that it was there.

Great read am glad I came across it in my travels.

Book Description:

Undead: a reanimated corpse with a craving for human flesh.

Ultramarathon: any footrace longer than a traditional marathon (26.2 miles).

For ultrarunners Kate and Frederico, a typical Saturday morning is spent pounding out a twenty- to thirty-mile “fun run.” It’s during one of their runs that an insidious illness descends upon northern California, turning humans into flesh-shredding zombies.

When Kate receives a desperate call from her son, Carter, she and Frederico flee their hometown and set out to help him. The only problem? Carter attends college over two hundred miles away and the freeways—clogged with car wrecks, zombies, and government blockades—are impassable. Running back roads and railroad tracks becomes their only means of travel, but neither of them has ever run so far before.

As pain, injuries, hunger, and fatigue plague them, getting to Carter and staying alive seem impossible. It’s either outrun the undead or become one of them, and for Kate, death is not an option.

A Summer Secret

by: Kathleen Fuller

This book gives you the info on certain Amish terms that you will read within the book, that are different than we would be used to seeing. (example: boppli means baby). It starts out in the barn, she is not supposed to be in. She is expected to drop whatever she is doing to help out her family. Mary Beth goes to the barn to escape all this.

The Amish terms are italicized to help them stand out for the readers, so you can go back to the front and look it up if needed.

This is a pretty good story. It is made for youths, but as an adult I still liked it well enough. I won't give the book away, but it has a nice and easy story line to follow. It has a nice ending, which may make you smile.

I have to say I really enjoyed reading this story, and it took me less than a day to finish reading it.

Book Description:

In the Mysteries of Middlefield series, readers will be immersed into exciting mysteries and authentic Amish culture.

With a twin brother and five younger brothers, Mary Beth Mullet's house is in constant chaos. Her parents don't seem to mind the noise, but she needs a break from all the pestering and babysitting.

It's the summer before eighth grade, and Mary Beth plans to escape to her secret place as much as possible. The old barn in the neighboring field is dangerous, and her parents have forbidden her to go there, but she escapes to it as often as she can.

Mary Beth soon discovers she is not alone in the barn. Someone is living there; someone who needs help. Can Mary Beth help the stranger without losing her secret place? And what if the barn is as dangerous as her parents say it is?

Readers will identify with Mary Beth's struggles for peace and independence and be engrossed in the excitement and danger of A Summer Secret.

Jelly Cleaning Gel in containers

Great to use on multiple items

I have ordered these in little packets before but when I seen them in these containers I was glad to buy these ones as well. I use these on my keyboard, fan, any area that has small cracks where dust gets into that it hectic to try and clean it out.

This gel works great on any surface I have tried it on.If you do leave it too long small bits might be left behind but its easy to get them up, just rub the gel in again and they will come out. It sticks to itself but doesnt stick to you. It does have faint smells of what the packaging says but I will say it doesnt quite smell the best if you smell it up close.

Water Storm (The Elements of Kamdaria 9)

by Kay L Moody

Awesome series continues. I was given a free ARC copy to read and am so very glad to be able to do so. I have loved this whole series so far and am really happy to see it continue. This review is my own words and honest thoughts of it.

The book series follows Talise on her adventures. You will definitely want to read them all, and the cliff hangars they leave off on makes your imagination run trying to think what could happen next in the books.

I am only going to give one small spoiler without it actually being a spoiler. In this book, there is a little girl name Willow and I have to say that I loved her characteristics. Also the ending of this book was a great way to lead into the next book.

I couldnt post this to Amazon as of yet since it is not yet released, but I hope to soon.

Book Desciption:

In the most dangerous part of the empire, Talise’s survival has never been in greater jeopardy.

And her heart has never been broken so completely.

When she discovers something is poisoning the land, the pursuit of it provides ample distraction from her aching heart. But the conflict in Kamdaria is only just beginning. Now she must choose whose side she’s really on.

Choosing one side could mean treason but choosing the other could mean death.

Wireless Earbuds

Brand: Mijiaer

The sound quality seems good to me. My music played great. You can shake your head, do flips and they still stay in. They have multiple earpieces if you need a smaller or larger bud.

When calling I can hear people but on this end there is a downside. As you can see on the second picture the mic area(s) are in a spot where it goes into your ear meaning when you talk people can’t hear you. Your voice is muffled to the people you talk to.

I think they should have placed the microphone on the bottom of the ear piece cause then it can still stay dry from any rain but also allows people to actually hear you properly. Although if you leave the earphone in loosely they can hear you better but it’s more possible to fall out.

I only docked one star for the mic issues cause I mostly bought them to listen to music or audiobooks anyways.

5 pack of USB sticks - 16GB

Great product, it gives you 14.4gb on each stick (cause thats how these usually end up going).

I tested these to the limit where there was under 400mb left on it and checked things to be sure everything worked and was very glad to see it did. I have bought USB drives in the past that corrupt things as you get closer to the amount it states you can write cause they messed with the sticks data, but that wasnt the case with these.

Loved them and would buy again.

Light up Mask Halloween Mask

Great mask from the movie The Purge. Lights up in 3 different modes. One mode is steady, second is flashing slowly, thrid is flashing fast. Works on 2 AA batteries. So far doesnt seem to die very quickly so thats a great sign.

The cord you can move around under the mask to move it to the back or somewhere out of view, thought you could wear a turtle neck with this mask, which could work nicely hiding the cord and look good with the mask itself.

Glad I was able to check this mask out, will be fun to use on Halloween.

Rechargeable Bluetooth Wireless Mouse

This works perfectly with the usb stick, there seems to be no latency. I will say that the middle mouse scroll wheel doesnt like to be clicked much, it is clunky but scrolls smoothly. The buttons make no sound as you click (again except the middle scroll wheel which makes a loud click).

I never got this to work with bluetooth, whether it is my pc that doesnt want to find it, or the mouse itself I am unsure, but I think its the mouse as my computer finds my bluetooth headsets with no issue.

Solar String Lights

Got these late in the day and used my phone flashlight to power them up a little and so far are holding a nice charge for what little time I shined a light on them.

As you can see they have a nice low shine to them, which I love. I am really glad to have been able to get these, It was a long set so when I unrolled the edge it tangled, but wasnt the hardest to untangle thankfuly, just had to be a little patient.

The reason I didnt go right to the end of the deck is because I have squirrels living in m room and they use the end of my deck to get up. I didnt want the squirrels to knaw on the lights.

I can't wait to see how well these light up when they have actual daylight powering them up all day.

Soft Maple Sugar Candies, 105 g

These were nasty looking and definately not fresh at all.

I got these today and l was disgusted looking at these white spots. Each of them have At least one small white spot. (No the white is not from flash either sadly)

For the price you pay you want to know they are fresh and these just don’t seem to be with these white spots.

Using my hands these almost pure white ones these are super hard. I for one would not want to test and eat them.

I will never buy these again from this seller. Which is unfortunate cause I love maple candies.
