Spirit Fighter - Son of Angels 1

By Jerel Law
Published by Thomas Nelson
Reading level: Ages 9 and up
Paperback: 256 pages

This is a great read for young kids (like my daughter), to teens, to even adults (like me).

Jonah is 13 (his brother Jeremiah is 7, & his sister Eliza is 11). Their mother is Eleanor Stone. They are all part angel (from one who is a fallen angel). Jonah has a hard time in basketball practice. Afterwards he prays in the field (which is something his father said to do for guidance, and he is a pastor). He kicks a soccer ball in anger and it goes launching. He later tells his father (who in turn talks to his mother) and they sit him down (without his siblings) and tell him he (and his siblings) is a quarter angel, and his mother is half angel. He finds out that good and evil are still waging war, and that he will be expected to fight in the war.

Marcus and Taryn (who are angels) deliver the news/order from God that Jonah and Eliza must find a way to rescue their mother from the fallen angel's clutches. Jonah is given a watch thing called a MissionFinder 3000 to help find his mom.

This is a great novel. I couldn't put it down, nor can i explain all that much more without giving a little too much away. All I can say is anyone and everyone will likely like this book. It is a great spiritual adventurous novel to read.

Spirit Bridge (A Well Spring Series Novel 3)

Spirit Bridge
A Well Spring Series Novel

By James L. Rubart
Published by Thomas Nelson

Average Blogger Rating: 4.43 Stars

When I first asked to review this book, I hadn't realized that it was the third and last in a series.

When I read this there were spots I was unclear what things were going on but all in all a good read. I will be going out to look for the first two books so I can read them and see what I missed. (Soul's Gate and Memory's Door)

Tidbits:
spiritual warfare
final battle against Zennon and his demons
Brandon -lost of his voice.

Book Description

The Warriors Riding have battled in astounding supernatural realms, set captives free, and awakened thousands of hearts. But now their only chance of survival depends on calling for The Spirit Bridge.

Reece, Dana, Brandon, and Marcus have achieved staggering success in the spiritual realm . . . but each is reeling from vicious attacks. They need rest. A break from the war.

But the warlord Zennon is raging and will give them no quarter. The demon holds what he believes to be the trump card—a hidden strategy set in motion before Warriors Riding even began—that will detonate the team from the inside out. And he's just set it loose.

The street magician Simon—finally free of Zennon's alternate reality prison—is racing to remember his past before his ignorance obliterates his destiny. Then there's Miyo—a brash young warrior with advanced knowledge of spiritual realities and supernatural armor even Reece doesn't know about. These two will be pivotal in the final war.

If only the Warriors knew which side Simon and Miyo are truly on. If only they knew how to fight against Zennon's final assault. The Spirit Bridge is the epic conclusion to acclaimed author James L. Rubart's Well Spring series, which will propel each of the Warriors Riding on a quest of true identity, ultimate freedom, and a final battle that will leave them changed forever.

Dawn Comes Early (The Brides Of Last Chance Ranch #1)

This book give a very interesting start, i couldn't seem to put the book down. Kate answers an ad that is looking for an Heiress whom will inherit a ranch, but is not allowed to get married. When she first arrives there, she get caught up in the middle of a small problem (which is kind of funny). She gets to the ranch and the woman has her late ex husband in a casket in the room.

Kate has many problems while trying to learn the ways of the ranch, the men are having a problem trying to learn her the ropes and minding their manners around her (no swearing). She learns how to birth a cow while doing it with Ruckus, "one down and only fifty-five more calves to go" he said.

She finds out that she may love Luke and now faces a dilemma, to sign the papers to never get married or go to Luke.

I love how it ends. I can't wait to read the second book and about the heiress (though i won't tell you, if it is the same girl or a new one)

Book Description

Disgraced dime novelist Kate Tenney fled the city that banned her latest novel for the emptiness of the desert. Answering an ad to be “heiress” to a vast cattle ranch in the Arizona Territory, Kate hopes ranching turns out to be as romantic as she portrayed it in her novels.

But what awaits her is a life harder than the one she just left. There is no room for mistakes on a working cattle ranch, and Kate is ill-prepared for her new life. She quickly learns that dawn comes early. But she is tenacious.

Having been abandoned by a string of men, Kate has no intention of ever marrying. But she didn’t expect to meet Luke Adams, either. Luke awakens feelings inside Kate she doesn’t recognize, and his steady presence is a constant distraction. She has only written about love in the past, never known it herself. But her feelings for Luke stand in the way of all she has to gain if she is chosen as the heir.

Perhaps God brought Kate to the barrenness of the desert to give new life to her jaded heart.

Beauty for Ashes

This book is a Christian romance novel with none of the adult type content, which is a great thing. This book is a great read for people who love reading about romance with Christianity thrown in. I loved reading this story and had a hard time putting it down.

The story is about Carrie Daly who is living with her brother Henry and he gets married to Mary who has 2 sons Joe and Caleb. At the beginning I really felt sorry Carrie when reading what went on in the house after her brother married and had Mary and the 2 boys move in.

Carrie is sort of seeing Nate Chastain, and the whole town seems to think they are perfect together. Carrie keeps saying she wants to be sure that Nate is the one God wants for her before setting the date. When Griff Rutledge, she starts feeling kind of weird (like she felt when she was with her first husband before he died). She is now more confused than ever.

I love the ending (which i won't give away). While being slightly predictable it is still a very heart warming ending to the book.

Suspended

Cassie was suspended for 3 days over the Easter holidays, meaning she was out of school total for a week. Her and Hailey were bugging a girl in school, Emily, who always was bothering them. Hailey took a video of it and they were just asking her "Are you mad? Or nahhhh". Just being silly kids on an indoor recess (after she came and bugged them and sat with them during indoor recess). Principal called me saying that they were calling her names and I had the video in front of me. The only thing that could be called name calling was Emily had said that they were driving her crazy and Cassie said she thought she already was (cause Emily always said that she was crazy and Cassie was just bugging her).

This isn't the first time there was an incident with Emily and it likely won't be that last. Cause every time that Emily starts to bug Cassie and Cassie tells a teacher, they tell her that it isn't a big deal but as soon as Emily tell a teacher she is being bugged they start to yell at that child.

The time before this was Emily had told Cassie that she had sex with their teacher who is her cousin (Mr. Leblanc) . Cassie couldn't believe it and said to a different friend that she couldn't believe what Emily was saying. Cassie removed the messages from her phone to save some memory and so we had no proof that Emily said it first. So this friend Cassie told then started to bug Emily and ask her why she said that and did she really do that. The school then got involved in it (due to the accusation on the teacher) and blamed it all on Cassie that started the rumor and told her and me, and my dad that they didn't even want her there and the teacher didn't want to teach her at all. So we had been asked to take her out for a few days so they could sort it all out. But as I said, it was all blamed on Cassie cause we didn't have proof and I couldn't get any cause I needed a court order to have Fido give me MY OWN RECORDS of the text messages.

Heart of Gold

I love this book, it was a great read. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys some real romance. Book is a Christian romance novel. It is based in a historical type of time period. This book is a great read, in my opinion. Shannon Adair and Matthew Dubois are the main characters in the story and they learn that their own way isn't not always the way God wants them to go.

Mattew's sister Alice is very sick, and when something happens to Alice, Matthew will need to look after her young son Todd. Matthew needs to find himself a wife that can look after Todd, while he continues his work. Shannon has vowed to not fall for him.

A Sound Like Fire

The story (for me) starts out kind of slow, but then you can really get into the story. But for the most part when the guy is talking, i found myself having to re-read the words to try and absorb them, and even then in certain areas, i still can't remember certain things/names. The story is a great read, very into the religious area it is very interesting to read.

SPOILERS BELOW

It talks of how in the bible that Jesus said he will come to Earth and collect his followers and bring them to heaven on the day he comes back to the earth. In the middle it talks about how Satan's name is Lucifer and when they rid the world of all things related to Christianity, they are sure to say that is his name and not Satan.

Hope this gives some insight and makes you think about reading this fine book.

First Date

At the time I picked this book, there were no reviews and being sick kind of took away from me being at the computer to read it. I have no read it and this is a good book to read. If you like clean romance, with some religion thrown in, this is the book for you.

I picked this book, cause it seemed to be interesting. Like a tv show you would watch on tv, how you try and get the "perfect guy" to pick you out of all the other girls. This teenager girl Addy went onto the tv show The Book of Love but doesn't want to be on it, at least at first. But she does end up falling for the guy and trying to win.

But she got selected anyway.

So she does her best to get eliminated on the very first show… right before she realizes that the President’s son is possibly the most attractive guy she has ever seen in person, surprisingly nice, and seemingly unimpressed by the 99 other girls who are throwing themselves at him.

Addy’s totally out of her comfort zone—but that may be right where God can show her the most about who she is . . . and who she was meant to be.

Book Description

It takes a miracle of grace to get Carley to finally make that bittersweet surrender to love and real life.
